I’m Mike Kerr, a Tasmanian writer and journalist, and occasional comedian and cartoonist. I have lived in the US and Australia, worked in both public and private media sectors, and continue write for multiple platforms including stand-up, radio and the print media.
In truth, though, I favour the stuff that’s on paper. I come from a school of thought that says newspapers, magazines and books are important. Reading is important, and people who read are important.
There’s a covenant, a trust, between those who write and those who read.
Of all interactions in media, I value that relationship above all others.
If recent news has taught us anything, it’s this: We are one world. We are one human race. And we have one climate. My interest is the stories of that one world; what I’m reading and recommending is mixed with what I’ve written, much of it about a tiny island at the bottom of the world.
This is my world, and I’m happy to share it
